Sell it through a payment link
Phone, free AI, PDF guide, zero setup: seven steps, simplest first. Here's the first one. Number seven: a payment link sells your guide, with $0 to set up. You share one link or code, and buyers pay there, with no website needed.
You can share it on social media, in emails or on a website. Digital items, like a PDF guide, are among the things a link can sell. You can update the details anytime, without sharing a new link. Buyers pay by card on the link's own checkout page.
By our count, ten sales of a five-dollar guide come to $50, before fees. The link is in the description. Each sale carries a small fee, a share plus a fixed amount, and it differs by place. Next, planning it with a free AI chat.
Plan it with a free AI chat
Number six: a free AI chat plans the guide with you when you ask clearly, with context. Talk to it naturally, the way you would with a coworker. Ask for the tone you want, like friendly, formal or serious. Read its answer, then ask again for simpler language, a new tone or more detail.
By our count, five chapters of about 300 words make a fifteen-hundred-word guide. If step-by-step guides like this help you, subscribe. Every official page is linked below. Some chats' terms say the text they write for you is yours.
Read your own chat's terms before you sell what it helped write. Next, making it your own.
Make the draft your own
Number five: the chat's text is a first draft, and you make it yours. A chat can sound sure and still be wrong, even in the quotes it shows. So you check every fact, quote and number before it goes in. Its text may not be unique, since others can get similar answers.
One chat's terms forbid passing its text off as written by a person. Rules on who owns AI-made text differ from place to place. By our count, four kinds of checks in each of five chapters make twenty checks. Next, laying it out on your phone.
Lay it out in your phone's text editor
Number four: your phone's text editor gives the guide a title and headings. You can start from a template or from a blank new file. You select the words you want to change, then pick a text style from the format menu on the toolbar. The style list has Normal text, Title, Subtitle and six levels of headings.
Pictures come in from your phone's photos through the insert menu. While you're online, the editor saves as you type, so there's no save button to remember. On an iPhone, your headings can build a contents list that links to each chapter. That contents list needs print layout turned on.
On Android, the app can't insert one, so you can type a short chapter list by hand. By our count, a simple guide can use just three of the nine styles: Title, Heading one and Normal text. Next, saving it as a PDF.
Save it as a PDF
Number three: your phone's editor saves the guide as a PDF in a few taps. On Android, the export list has seven formats, and PDF is one of them. On an iPhone, it has two: a Word file or a PDF. In another editor, you tap the three dots, then Export, then PDF.
That editor can also print the file and choose Save as PDF. Then you pick where to save it and give it a name. A PDF keeps the same look on every screen it opens on, ready for sharing or printing. WPS Office says its basic PDF output is free to use.
The file lands on your phone, and a notification tells you it's there. By our count, saving that way takes three taps: the menu, Export, then PDF. Next, the price and the payment link.
Set the price and make the link
Number two: you add the guide as a product with a fixed price, then create the link. On PayPal, you enter the product name, price and currency, then build the link. Stripe's iPhone app can make the link right on your phone. PayPal's app version is listed as coming soon, so its site does it for now.
The fee per sale depends on your country and currency, and your provider's page shows yours. Keep your sales page honest: both providers ban get-rich-quick promises. Selling material you don't have the rights to is banned too. For digital goods, PayPal asks for proof that the buyer got the file.
By our count, at one page's 3.49%, a ten-dollar guide costs about thirty-five cents in fees, plus a fixed part. And number one: getting paid.
Get paid and deliver the PDF
Number one: after paying, the buyer sees your thank-you message or lands on a page you choose. You can put your PDF's link on that page. Each payment shows in your dashboard, with an email after the first. If you refund a buyer, the original fee isn't returned.
Stripe's page says a first payout typically arrives within seven to fourteen days, depending on where you sell. PayPal's says a bank transfer typically takes one to three business days. Receipts can go out automatically after each payment. Say Maya sells her guide for $5 to twelve buyers.
By our count, twelve sales at $5 come to $60, before fees. Wondering where else your writing can pay? Click the video on screen now.

A step-by-step guide to making one simple ebook on your phone and selling it as a PDF: sell it through a payment link with no setup or monthly fee, plan it with a free AI chat, check every fact and make the draft your own, lay it out with titles and headings in your phone's text editor, save it as a PDF, set the price and create the link, then see each payment and send buyers to a page you choose. Some AI chats' terms say the text they write for you is yours; read your own chat's terms, and note that rules on AI-made text differ by place. Payment fees and payout times differ by country and currency; the figures here are one official page's examples. From the tools' own live official pages, read on November 2, 2026, with counts of our own. Maya and the sales in the counts are invented examples. Information only; results vary.
