Intro

On payday, a hundred-dollar job leaves eighty on TutorOcean, seventy on WriterAccess. Three hidden payout rules decide how much lands in your account, starting with the exact percentage each platform takes. Number one, the biggest, is the exact day money is sent.

1. The share of each payment you keep

Number three: the share of each payment you keep. TutorOcean tutors keep 80% with students who come from its website. With students they bring themselves, they keep 90%. Payment processing is already included in both shares.

WriterAccess pays out with its 30% fee already deducted, leaving you seventy. On Cafetalk, a tutor's share starts at 60% and can reach seventy with a reliability bonus. By our count, a hundred dollars leaves eighty on TutorOcean, and seventy on WriterAccess. Say Maya finishes five hundred-dollar jobs: that's 400 on TutorOcean and 350 on WriterAccess.

Keep in mind: PayPal's receiving fee varies by country. Joining TutorOcean is free, with no subscription and no fee to list your services.

2. The smallest balance a site will pay out

Number two: the smallest balance a site will pay out. Stellar, a writing marketplace once called Crowd Content, has a ten-dollar threshold. Below that, your balance carries over to the next payday. Stellar pays through PayPal every Tuesday and Friday.

By our count, two five-dollar orders add up to the ten-dollar line. Designhill, a site for design contests, sets $50 as the minimum you can request. On TutorOcean, a PayPal payment needs a forty-dollar balance first. $10, forty or fifty: each site draws its own line.

Subscribe, because next we cover number one: the exact day your money is sent. Every step and rule in this video comes straight from each platform's official pages linked below.

3. The exact day your money is sent

Number one: the exact day your money is sent, and when it lands. On Cafetalk, a lessons site, requests made by the third of the month are paid on the fifteenth. Its automatic option creates the request on the first, before the cutoff. A request on the twenty-fifth waits for the next cutoff and is paid by the next fifteenth.

By our count, in a thirty-day month, asking on the third means twelve days to payday; on the fourth, about six weeks. WriterAccess tallies approved work on the fourth and the nineteenth of each month. It typically pays between the seventh and ninth, and between the twenty-second and twenty-fourth. That gap gives clients time to approve the previous period's work.

Instant withdrawals cost a flat $7, at any time. Designhill lets you request a prize three days after it reaches your e-wallet. Those three days let the site check your design against the source files. On TutorOcean, a session is processed forty-eight hours after it ends.

From there, the bank transfer can take up to seven days. Its PayPal payments go out on the first business day of the month. Designhill pays out on business days only, not on weekends or public holidays. Cafetalk pays only for lessons marked completed, so a booked lesson waits until it's done.

Both PayPal and Payoneer may charge extra depending on your location, Designhill notes. WriterAccess takes freelancer applications from seven countries for now. That's number one: the exact day money is sent, written on each payout page. Quick recap: what you keep, the smallest payout, and the exact payday.

Which one would you check first? Tell us the number in the comments. If you want sites that pay within days, the next video is on screen now: eight sites and the exact day each pays. Information only; results vary.

A short guide to the three things on a gig site's payout page that decide what reaches you and when: the share you keep, the smallest balance it pays out, and the exact payday, shown on the official pages of TutorOcean, WriterAccess, Stellar, Designhill and Cafetalk, read on October 30, 2026, with one count of our own per check. Every number belongs to the page that states it; fees and timings can differ by country and payout method, so check each site's own page. Nothing here promises earnings.
